Youngsters in Northumberland are working on a real-life design brief to create innovative survival products and technical clothing thanks to a successful Young Foresight Partnership.

Alnwick Lindisfarne Middle School has been working with it's industry mentor company the Shark Group Ltd for over six years following a partnership set up by Anne Robinson, Deputy Headteacher and Jane Nolan (MBE), Chief Executive of Shark Group.

The Shark Group, based in Northumberland, is an award winning manufacturer of survival products and technical clothing with 35 years of experience in design and manufacture worldwide and a strong commitment to innovation.

Year 8 pupils have been working alongside Jane to produce their own innovative designs for a new range of future products incorporating new and emerging technology currently used by the company.  Jane describes the Young Foresight program as "an excellent project because it creates aspiration and fires the imagination of the students.  It is great that the project happens when the students are so young."
